Congratulations to Steve Carter, our Vixens' Coach. Steve was recently nominated for Volunteer of the Year after working tirelessly to promote and coach our Ladies Team - the Vixens. Steve was delighted to make it to the final 2. the ceremony was to be held at Twickenham on the Friday, but on the Thursday, Steve had an ophthalmic problem and had to go to hospital where he had an small operation. But this was just a minor inconvenience to our Steve. wearing an eye patch, he still made it to Twickenham (against Doctors' orders) but was unfortunately pipped at the post by Lamees Idris from Hackney RFC. whilst obviously congratulating Lamees, we should also warmly applaud Steve for going above and beyond.

It is volunteers like Steve and Lamees who are the lifeblood of the rugby community. They overcome so many obstacles to impart and share their love of the game. Steve is just one of those great people and we, at Vigo RFC, are all thankful to him and the rest of our fantastic volunteers for making our Club such a great place to play.
