Dartford Valley were first up in what would be a very high tempo match. Early tries from the Scorpions showed our speed in getting the ball to the outside spaces and using them effectively. Dartford valley however, rallied after the break and started to come back into it with some great offloading. However the Scorpions held their nerve and put in some big tackles and kept showing up right to the final whistle.

Next up came Tunbridge Wells and again the Scorpions started well but with more straight running this time. The pitch was now starting to show wear and tear and handling was suffering on both sides due to the constant rain. Despite the conditions though the Scorpions powered through to score some fantastic team tries in what was a very close and competitive match.

The penultimate team to be played was the hosts, Westcombe Park. With the rain now slowing, both teams made a bright start, however the speed of the Scorpions attack and their ferocity in defence was certainly the difference. The teams traded tries after the initial few minutes but then the Scorpions took control. Try saving tackles were made on more than one occasion denying the hosts the scores they had worked so hard to get.

The final match saw the Scorpions take on Old Colfeians, who we had faced earlier in the season. Again fast flowing rugby from both teams saw some excellent offloading and team tries. It was two very tired teams that shook hands and cheered each other at the final whistle!

Every one of the team gave 100% today and therefore there was no coaches player nominated as this was a real team effort.

It has been a fantastic season for the Scorpions who have (unofficially) claimed some big scalps this season! It’s been a real pleasure to watch them develop into a very good team.
