History of Waddington Football Club


Waddington FC was established in 1913, is affiliated with the West Riding Football Association and up until 2010 played in the Craven Football league. In 2010 the club took the decision to join the East Lancashire football league association, which has been a success. In November 2016 Waddington FC was awarded FA Charter Standard status by the West Riding FA.

The Club now has two teams in the East Lancs league, the first team in the premier division and the reserve team playing in the reserve division.

The Club is famed in local amateur football for the Tangerine kit that it plays in and has a proud and strong tradition of having local village folk connected with the club Starting at the top with Chairman Adrian Hirst, Secretary Neil Dunn along with first team manager Don Conti. The reserve team is managed by Scott Threlfall.

May 2019 David Walmsley steps down as Reserve Team Manager. Scott Threlfall is appointed the role.

1st Team - East Lancs Premier / 7th place / 37 points / -4 GD

1st Team - East Lancs President's Cup Runners Up

1st Team - Semi Final Craven Cup (Loss 1-0 to Settle United)

2nd Team - East Lancs Div 2 / 11th place / 16 points / -49 GD

2nd Team - Norman Pratt Trophy Quarter Final (Loss 2-1 Settle United)

July 2018 East Lancs League restructures to Premier and Division 2 due to lack of teams.
