In the first game in the new look CRFU post Xmas league 2, Camels 2nds traveled to Bodmin to meet their firsts. Report by Nigel Spencer.

We started well and after a Rhys Bright break only a final pass not going to hand saw the game remain scoreless.
With the back row of Madigan, Boyling and Stone dominating the breakdown and subsequent favourable penalty count the visitors piled on the pressure and they struck twice after a scorching break from Matt Bennetts saw Lewis Wilton cross and shortly after Charlie Jenkins did likewise from 40 yards out converted by Farrant.
Although losing Bennett to injury hopes were high, but Bodmin as expected came out firing and although initially holding firm to four or 5 incursions close to the line they crossed from a driving maul for a converted try.
Camels regrouped but were now on the wrong end of penalty count although due to foul play. With a man advantage Bodmin crossed with 10 mins left. Strong breakdown play won Camels a penalty in the Bodmin half before Farrants attempt hit the upright and bounced out. From the clearance kick Bodmin won a penalty and subsequent pressure they managed to barge their way over in the corner to secure victory when a draw would have been fairer result.
Camels need to learn and regroup this week before playing Helston at home under lights after the first team game.
Nigel.
