Rugby clubs are built on the dedication of people who give their time, commitment and passion year after year. This season, Wadebridge Camels RFC bids farewell to two players who have embodied those values throughout their playing careers. Richard Treleaven and Dom Hawkey have each made an outstanding contribution to the club, leaving a legacy that extends far beyond the number of games played.
Richard Treleaven – After nearly three decades with Wadebridge Camels RFC, Richard retires from first-team rugby having made more than 500 appearances since his debut at just 17 years old. A one-club man through and through, his commitment, loyalty and passion for the Camels have been an inspiration to teammates and supporters alike. While stepping away from the 1st XV, we're delighted Richard will continue to play a part in the club through coaching the next generation – and perhaps the occasional run-out for the 2nds.
Dom Hawkey – Having first pulled on a Camels shirt as a mini rugby player, Dom's connection with Wadebridge has spanned more than 30 years. Respected by teammates and admired throughout the club, he leaves the game with lifelong friendships and countless memories, proud to have represented the Camels for so many seasons. Dom leaves the First XV as the 25-26 season top try scorer! His dedication and contribution to the club embody everything that makes Wadebridge Camels RFC such a special rugby family.
