Camels put together their first good performance of the season to win an entertaining, high-scoring game against their fierce rivals.

The game began with a flurry of tries. A strong run by Ethan saw Camels score first, but Camborne answered immediately after disrupting a Camels scrum. Ethan scored again after a sublime offload by Sam, but from the kick off Camborne's scrum half intercepted a loose pass to bring it back to 12-12. Camels then took charge with a dominant spell - new signing Cory scored a spectacular try from 70 yards, and Ethan was in irrepressible form adding three more tries before halftime. Camborne maintained their commitment and effort, and a try from a fine backs move kept them just in touch with the score 17-32 at the break.

At the start of the second half Billy charged through from halfway to score under the posts for Camels, and the game seemed to be over at 17-39. However, Camborne kept attacking and their well-organised back division started to enjoy some space against a complacent Camels defence - one try was followed by another, and another. Suddenly another try leveled the scores, and a fine conversion kick took Camborne into the lead at 41-39 with 5 minutes left.

Forced to attack, Camels raised their game and drove immediately into Camborne territory. Camborne gave away a pen in desperate defence, and Jack had the vision to spot a gap and take a quick tap, a sidestep allowing him to dive over in the corner and put Camels back in front. Desperate to make sure, Camels forced their way back into the Camborne 22, and HarryP got himself into the middle of a rolling mall, ripped the ball from Camborne hands and drove himself and three opponents over the line beneath the posts for the deciding try.

Wonderful entertainment for the spectators and a much improved performance from Camels, but they will know that their defence and organisation will need to improve for some tougher games ahead. Thanks to Camborne who were welcoming and gracious hosts.
