It was another memorable day in the Camels U14s calender.

After a very successful first round of fund raising before Christmas the boys were back for round 2. Morrisons Supermarket at Bodmin again being the venue for the bag packing event. After the last great effort from the Lads, the store kindly invited us back in order to generate further funds for our upcoming April Tour to South Wales.

The only down side was that we had to sacrifice our scheduled fixture against Saltash because the only day the store could offer us was Sunday 23rd, all other dates were fully booked! We tried to get alternative fixtures for the Saturday but unfortunately players and Parents had other commitments.

Anyway we all met at the Store in Bodmin at 0945 and were on the tills ready to pack as soon as the store opened at 10am. The Customers were coming through at a steady pace for a Sunday and their generosity became evident only after about 2 hours packing. All credit to the lads they were doing a great job!. One of the lads reported that 1 generous customer donated £15.00 which was fantastic and it gave the boys the incentive to push on right through to 4pm when the last customer was through the checkouts.

Kevin and Sara Wortley kindly volunteered to counting the money that evening which took the both of them a full 2 hours.

What a great achievement by all the squad, between them they managed to raise a total sum of £874.55p in six hours of packing customers shopping. Our estimations of £450 to £600 were smashed thanks to the fantastic generosity of the people shopping at the store on Sunday.

Again, we would like to express our thanks to the Store Manager and his staff for allowing us to do this fund raising event and helping to make our planned Tour a memorable one.

Lastly, again it was the massive effort from this group of individuals who gave up their whole day to make this possible. It was great to here customers throughout the day pass positive comments. You lot are a credit to your Parents and the Wadebridge Camels. WELL DONE LADS!!!
