Winning Form Continues

Camels Under 13's continued their winning form against a tough St Austell side.

St Austell fielded a large, powerful side built around a strong yet mobile set of forwards. Strong in the tackle and quick to breakdowns, St Austell proved tough opponents, particularly in the first 15 minutes of the match. Camels were the team pushing for a score - but found it difficult to break down the St Austell defence.

On 15 minutes the deadlock was broken when a quick backs move saw Tom May score under the posts. This was converted by Liam Grubb to take Camels into a 7 - 0 lead. With this score behind them Camels stepped up a gear and great forward work from the likes of Harry Tregidgo, Dan Nighingale and Harry Brain began to wear St Austell down and open up the game more and more for Camels.

For the rest of the half Camels took control and were rewarded with two tries (Brain & Grubb) to take a half-time lead of 17 - 0.

The second-half started similar to the first, Camels on the front foot but finding a stern St Austell defence difficult to penetrate. Mid-way through the second-half Camels worked a good forward move and Harry Tregidgo powered over to increase Camels lead to 22 - 0.

Several injuries and some substitutions disrupted Camels flow slightly for the rest of the half and St Austell scored a well deserved try to end the game 22 - 5.

An all round great performance from the team, once again adapting the play as required and coping very well with the step-up to full 15-a-side rugby.
