The second playing Sunday followed on the 16th October. Again we faced a triangular mini round-robin tournament. This time we travelled away to Bridgnorth. Telford were the third team competing.
Bridgnorth and Telford played the first game. A keen encounter saw honours even in a 6-6 draw. Walsall’s first game of the morning was another keenly fought encounter, with Bridgnorth providing the opposition. Maintaining their game-by-game improvement, Walsall emerged victorious 4-3. Telford were next up, and Walsall, in an uninhibited display showed their true mettle, romping tries in from all over the park to win 11-6. For the second week running Walsall had emerged victorious in a mini tournament.
Once again all squad players were utilised, and each played their part in a successful morning’s rugby. It is particularly pleasing to note how the team is beginning to gel as the new players execute their skills with a growing confidence.
