Officially crowned the 2nd best disability team in the country and also making history at the same time.
On the seventh of November 2019, we traveled to Liverpool for a mental health international tournament. We didn’t only represent the club, we represented 3 different counties. There was 25 different teams there including premiership and championship teams. We arrived at the venue, we played our group stages and won 5, lost 1. The team we lost to was an ex military they won it 3 years on a trot and never lost a game. We qualified for the next round and we had Shrewsbury in the quarterfinals, and we won 3 - 1. Then we had the ex military in the semi final and we were the first ever team to beat them by 2 goals to 1. Then we had Liverpool homeless charity team in the final, and we lost 2 goals to none but on the bright side we are officially the second best team in the country. The players played their hearts out, and a massive thank you to all the players and manager that turned up and done their best . The players that deserve the credit are Jake Dwyer (C), Marc D (GK), Laurie King, Denis Walker (VC), David A, Harvey Cross, Dennis C, Glenn Miller (M). We had a great tournament and can’t wait for Colchester on the 16th of November 2019.
