The Vets won convincingly at a sodden Capershotts today against a Buntingford side that included a few of the now defunct Ware Strollers team. Daryl Wood, playing in goal in place of the injured Mickey Hollister and Dave Hayes had pretty much little to do and in the first half probably touched the ball no more than four times. Temporary Manager Densham, in the absence of Gumble, wasnt able to bring out the "I know were ring rusty" lines, instead preferring to run the line and fetch the water. Pearce was marauding on the right flank pinging in crosses to no one and as usual Ali was blasting shots over the bar when better placed to pass. Standard performance from the boys, Mitchell qouting "we were winning when I came off" and Archibald replacing Wood in goal to let him get warm having the honour of letting in two goals and taking the stick. Tidy win that keeps the Vets on track for the league title this season.
