Central Defender Sam Hartley and Versatile Defender Harry Brock have committed with Wantage Town FC for the season 21/22

Wantage Management and the local fans will be delighted to hear that both Sam Hartley and Harry Brock will be continuing their football at Alfredian Park again this season.

Both players joined the club at the start of last season from Brackley Town Saints, where they both have developed most of their footballing experience before joining the green and white.

Harry Brock aka “Brocky” made 9 competitive appearances last season, although partially hindered with minor injuries, he ended the season strongly, being the last person to receive man of the match before the season curtailed. Brocky has been “Mr Consistent” since arriving at Wantage who has been extremely reliable and influential both on and off the field. Again, its fair to say he is another player that we have yet to see the best out of yet, which again only bodes well for the prospect of next season.

Another player to be excited about is Sam Hartley who is definitely one to keep an eye on for next season! Unfortunately for Sam the season ended too early as he was just starting to get into his stride with some excellent performances, most notably our 3-1 win against AFC Dunstable!
Although initially hindered with injury and missing out on squad selection at the start of the season. What was really impressive was his attitude, desire, belief to improve and prove he should be in the regular starting 11. Making 8 competitive appearances last season, Sam tallied up an extremely impressive 7.87 average match rating therefore reflecting his justification on holding his first team selection!

The pair are now the 4th and 5th signings this season as the squad starts to take place nicely! A further 4 have signed forms this week and will be announced in due course!

Keep your eyes peeled and most importantly Up The Freds
