Currently complete records exist for the players in two groups. Firstly those whose playing career with Ware started in or after the 1926/7 season and whose time at the club ended in or before the 1971/2 season. Secondly, those whose time at Ware started in or after the 2000/1 season up to the current day (though there are still a very few gaps in this part of the record).

Research of the period before 1926/7 has now been completed as much as is reasonably possible. Some players' appearances will never be complete due to the absence of club and/or newspaper records. To finish this work those playing records which spanned either side of the 1926/7 season need to be given a seemless join with the existing records for that season and beyond.

The later part of the twentieth century still has to be covered though this period will also be affected by a lack of club and newspaper records. The research is continuing. It is a long process not helpd by the cyber attack on the British Library which is hampering access to archived copies of the Mercury.

I hope any abbreviations used to identify playing positions are self explanatory but contact me if they are not.

The current record. For each player their family and first names are given followed by their normal playing position; the number of games they started and the number of additional appearances as a substitute; the number of goals they have scored; and lastly their debut date and opponents.

I have yet to establish the full record for some in the list. The names of those players appear in a separate section at the end of the main list.
