The under-23s won their second match of the season last night with a 3-2 win at Bury Town. On target were Noah Southwell and Tommy Shepherd who put two into the back of the net.

This was a battle between two sides who had both won their opening matches 4-0 with Ware's win moving them back to the top of the division.

Shepherd's brace in the game can be added to the one he scored in that first league match against Barking and the two goals he scored in the FA Youth Cup game at Spelthorne. If you're wondering if Tommy is ever going to score a hat trick you can stop. He already has in the earlier Youth Cup win at Clacton.

The next under-23 action is at Brentwood in just over a week's time but please note that the date for this game has been changed from Wednesday to Thursday, 29th October.
