Next season's divisional make up has been released.

Stephen King15 May - 11:25

Three clubs new to us in league matches.

So here we go, already preparing for next season with six new clubs in the Southern League Division One (Central). Having lost five clubs to promotion and relegation the division is now back up to its full complement.

Only one of the arrivals is totally new to us, Milton Keynes Irish who won the Spartan South Midlands title comfortably last season and will be a team to watch. Beyond them there are two clubs we have never previously met in league games though London Lions, promoted after winning the Spartan South Midlands play-offs, did meet us in last season's Herts Senior Cup. Rayners Lane move across from the Isthmian South Central division. We have met once before in a drawn friendly back in April 1962 with Don Suckling scoring our goal.

Of the other three clubs we welcome Biggleswade Town back after a season in the Premier Division Central, Marlow from the Premier South and Hitchin Town, also from the Premier Central. The coming season will see us meet Hitchin in league competition for the first time since 1928/9. We lost both meetings back then, 5-1 at home (Pavitt scored for us) and 4-2 away (Parkin with both our goals) so there's room for improvement.

A map showing the locations of our opponents is here.
