Two earlier defeats, one in a pre-season friendly and the other in the away league match set the scene for this game as Ken Charlery prepares the team for its first home outing under his managership.

The 4-1 league loss saw Tom Coulton, last season's keeper and now back in the squad, have an excellent game for Barton. A fact that reminds us that with the move of Jack Smith to Hemel there will be a change between the posts this Tuesday along with others in the outfield.

How many changes there might be is not entirely certain but in the wake of Saturday's defeat more of the new signings may be given an outing. Saturday's opening scorer, Elliot Bailey, scored against Ware in that 4-1 defeat at Barton.

Barton won 3-1 at home to bottom club North Greenford on Saturday and are in 14th place in the table, seven points and five places behind Ware with a game in hand.
