Ware boys move on to 4th round of the county cup in which they are away to Borehamwood.

Round 3 of the County Cup saw Ware welcome Bury Rangers Reds. The visitors are flying high at the top of the mid herts Premier and with an array of District and County players, boasting a scoring average of 6 goals per game, they were clearly focused on taking a big scalp.

The first two minutes saw territorial pressure from Bury, however it was not long before Ware began to assert control through the midfield. With just 5 minutes played Ware opened the scoring, a bouncing ball found it's way to Ollie Luck who sent a looping header above the crowded penalty area and under the bar for a lead that was never relinquished.

As often is the case the goal saw Ware find an extra yard and the passing became crisp and fluent, switching play across the pitch to release Thomas Weald in the left wing channel, a fierce drive was well saved by the Bury keeper.

With 11 minutes played Ware again showed the value of quick passing, the ball shifted from the centre of defence to Ollie Luck on the right wing, cutting inside ollie fed the centre forward channel with a perfectly weighted pass that was met by Thomas Weald at full pace and with a one touch finish, slipped the ball past the Bury keeper for a 2-0 lead.

Ware were now in full flow, Ollie Luck in particular combining with Andrew Bennet and causing mayhem on the right hand side.Perhaps surprisingly it was not until the 27th munte that Ware extended the lead, Ollie Luck picking up the ball on the half way line, driving past and through the opposition before drilling an unstoppable shot inside the right hand post- a fabulous goal.

With the match now effectively over Ware took their foot of the pedal and Bury threw on an additional forward. The attacking move bore fruits, two gilt edged chances, the first a strong run from the newly introduced centre forward saw him clear and 8 yards out, a square pass would have been a tap in for his fellow forward, however a choice was made to shoot from a tight angle and the ball fizzed wide.

Three minutes later Bury made amends, again a drive down the centre, this time the shot drilled into the bottem corner giving Charlie no chance in goal.

3-1 at half time and Bury had a second wind. The second half however was niggly, slowed by a stream of small fouls and Bury found themselves resorting to long balls that were easily coped with by Alfie Campbell and Joseph Abe in the centre of defence.

Little to note beyond Ware's control of the game, Rodney Clements nearly capitalising on a stray back pass to be denied by the Bury keeper before with a few minutes left Nathan Tree capped a fine performance with a screamer into the top right hand corner- a proper postage stamp finish from the left foot swinger! good job Nathan had not hit it with his right-lord knows the damage that would have done.

4-1 and a comfortable win against a dangerous and talented team, Ware will be concious that they may well need to be more ruthless with their dominance in future games to go all the way.MOTM Ollie Luck- unplayable in this form.
