Another four-goal margin as Ware move into the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round.

Having come back from a goal down with only ten men in their league game four days earlier Ware might have harboured misgivings when Heath's Joe Ladbury, already with a yellow card to his name, was shown a straight red for a studs up lunging tackle on Robbie Buchanan early in the second half. As it was the Magpies rarely threatened a come back and Ware built on their one goal half time lead to run out comfortable winners.

Ware showed two changes from Tuesday's win with both Marcus Milner and Dave Kendall unavailable. Milner has been a revelation at full back and Kendall has taken on talismanic status after scoring winning goals in two recent matches. Even so it is a mark of the team Paul Halsey is building that their replacements did all that was asked of them if not more. The return of Louis Rose to the back four was not surprising but if the appearance of James Mulley as Milner's replacement was unexpected, he had all the experience and skill to master his task.

What this altered defence had to contend with in the first half was an attack built around long balls from defence and the fast running Magpies forward line. There were a few half chances for them but it was Ware who took the lead early on after Pat Adamson's long cross into the far right side of the home penalty area was headed back in front of goal by Albert Adu for Leigh Rose to slide the ball home. The visitors didn't really look back after that.

Instead the home side picked up a couple of cautions as they strove to match Ware whose best chance of doubling their lead came three minutes from the break. Buchanan's corner from the right was met by Adu's deft header which looked destined for the back of the net before being cleared from just under the bar.

Playing with the slope in the second half, the home side might have been expected to capitalise on their long ball game but they slowly drifted out of contention looking tired and out of sorts, especially once a man short. The killer blow however came just before the hour. Chris Arthur brought the ball forward for Buchanan to lay it wide to Taufee Skandari on the left who worked his way inside about twenty yards out before unleashing a bullet of a shot that went in off Connor Sansom's left post. If the ball hasn't left scorch marks on the upright it'll be a surprise.

Ware were now moving the ball around with confidence, keeping it on the ground to open up further chances. Tom Bruno orchestrated a lot of what was happening in his best spell of the game but was withdrawn later with the match won. The close passing bore fruit in the last ten minutes as the ball was fed from Buchanan to Rechan Esprit then on to Liam Hope before a final pass gave Louis Rose the chance to emulate his brother and make it 3-0.

Hope wasn't to be denied either and with a minute of normal time to go Skandari lofted a ball into the area from which Hope took his cue to loop a header over Sansom for number four. Another clean sheet rounded off a good day that leaves Ware confidently anticipating Monday's draw for the next round.

Ware: Brad Robinson, Kames Mulley, Pat Adamson, Leigh Rose (Chris Arthur (54mins), Louis Rose, Daniel Rumens, Robbie Buchanan, Tom Bruno (Rechan Esprit 76mins), Liam Dulson (Liam Hope 65mins), Albert Adu, Taufee Skandari. Unused subs: Ethan Gannon, Reece Crowter, Michael Bardle.
