Ware produced another indifferent display and were fortunate to get away with a draw against a spirited and determined Chatham Town side.
A tale of two halves with Chatham Town dominating the first half and Ware dominating the second half.
The first chance went to Ware with a foul on Finbarr Robins on the edge of the box, the resulting free kick from Ryan Hervel was comfortably saved by Tom Wellham in the Chatham goal.
Chatham came back with excellent play through Matt Solly, Lee Hales and Philip Kane but saw the ball run out of play.
Chatham with the dangerous Ade Yusuff and Austin Gacheru were always a threat on the counter attack and the Ware defence struggled at times to cope with the pace of the Chatham Town forwards.
More excellent play between Jamie Lawrence, Matt Solly, Lewis Knight and Ade Yusuff saw Ware keeper Rhys Madden save at the feet of Ade Yusuff when about to shoot at goal.
Chatham saw their pressure pay off in the 13th minute when Lee Hales passed to Kane Philip who smashed home the ball to give Chatham a 1-0 lead, Ware then had a chance when good play by Alaa Oujdi, Murat Karagul, Kieran Bishop and Ryan Hervel saw the latter mistime his shot that went wide and out of play for a goal kick.
In the 19th minute Chatham were reduced to ten men when Kane Philip was dismissed for striking out at Finbarr Robins in front of the referee with Finbarr Robins being booked in the same incident.
The sending off did not seem to affect the Chatham side too much and from a Chatham free kick Rhys Madden had to palm away a shot from Chatham skipper Matt Solly.
Ware’s Murat Karagul then had a shot that Tom Wellham failed to hold but managed to gather at the second attempt as Khale DaCosta was about to strike the ball.
Chatham soon after increased their lead in the 32nd minute when a miss kicked clearance by Gareth Madden and then Lee White failing to head clear when under pressure from Ade Yusuff who slotted the ball home into an empty net to give Chatham a 2-0 lead.
Another chance fell to Chatham when a headed clearance by Murat Karagul fell to Lee Hales who fired over the bar from twenty yards out.
In the 41st minute Ware had the ball in the net in a crowded box but the referee blew up for an infringement and disallowed the goal.
Half-Time: Ware FC 0-2 Chatham Town FC.
Ware started brightly at the beginning of the second half with Samir Hadi passing to Murat Karagul whose shot was deflected for a corner, the corner taken by Ryan Hervel was met by Murat Karagul and his header was cleared off the line, a third chance fell to Murat karagul but he headed wide.
Ware were dominating the half but had to be alert to the dangerous counter attacks from Austin Gacheru and Ade Yusuff but Ware continued their all out attacks with Alaa Oujdi passing to Kieran Bishop who crossed low into the box but nobody was able to get on the end of the ball.
Ware’s constant pressure almost paid off when Gareth Madden, Ryan Hervel and Lee White whose long ball was met by Murat Karagul who fired over the bar when in a good position, Khale DaCosta then had a chance when winning the ball on the edge of the box but shot wide.
Ware eventually got the break through and pulled a goal back in the 64th minute when Khale DaCosta’s cross into the box was met by Kieran Bishop who made no mistake and fired home high into the net from close range.
Ryan Wade then had an effort saved by the keeper and then the keeper made an even better save from Kieran Bishop when getting down and pushing the ball round the near post for a corner.
In the 79th minute Ware equalized when Ware Skipper Lee White’s run and powerful low cross into a crowded box was turned in by Joe Loft and level the score at 2-2.
Chatham had a chance soon after when Lee Hales lobbed keeper Rhys Madden and saw his effort hit the post and bounce back out, he was just about ready to follow up when Rhys Madden made a tackle and cleared the ball.
Chatham were still not finished and a couple of counter attacks saw a Corey Holder effort plucked out of the air by Rhys Madden and the same player hitting a shot over the bar, as the game drew to its close Ware had two more chances to take the lead with Kieran Bishop firing over the bar and a Ryan Hervel effort fired wide of the near post.
