Pitching-in Southern League Division One (Central); kick off 3pm.

Round three of the league season finds Ware hoping to maintain their 100% record and Abbey looking for their first points. That black and white view of the build up to this game is however blurred by last weekend's results in the FA Cup. Whilst we were losing at Berkhamsted Abbey scored a clear 3-0 win over Tilbury, who currently lie fourth in Isthmian division one north.

So this will be a difficult game and one we face without Dan Rumens and Shaquille Ishmael who were both red carded at Berkhamsted. On the plus side we do have Rene Howe available after his suspension.

The programme for this game, available at the gate for £1.50, had to go to print early this week. That meant the news of new signings has missed publication but you can read about them here. Striker Jack Vasey, most recently with Biggleswade Town and before that Welwyn Garden City, has put pen to paper though he won't be available for this game. We have also signed Lewis Horn-Hayes on loan from Aldershot Town until the start of the new year. Lewis is a wide midfielder capable of playing on either wing. We wish both players success in their time at Ware.

Print deadlines can't be blamed for the next omission from Saturday's programme. Instead the fault lies with my memory banks which are showing signs of wear and tear. Let me put that right now by telling you that should Liam Dulson take the field on Saturday it will signal his fiftieth appearance for the club. And that reminds me that Chris Arthur passed that milestone in the 2-1 win at Thame on the opening day of the season. My apologies to him for not mentioning that in the programme against Biggleswade Town. Congratulations to both on their achievement.

None of which means there is nothing left to read in Saturday's programme which has the usual full range of articles including Aiden's Astro Turf series which this week focusses on the coming World Cup.
