This is a repeat of our final regular league fixture of last season prior to the play-offs. We were beaten 3-1 (Louis Rose) in what was our first away defeat of 2022 and only Didcot’s second home win of the season.

Luckily other results on the day helped us maintain a favourable position in the play-offs. There will be no such luck this time round as a win for the home side will take them above us in the table and dent our promotion prospects.

Hopefully our injury problems will have lessened by Saturday. It’s not yet a crisis but with the Rose brothers, Sam Chaney and Richard Bryan all absent last week the return of at least some of these absentees would be a boost.

Our only other meeting with Didcot is the home league game last season which was drawn 2-2 (Leigh Rose and Liam Dulson) so we are still waiting for our first win over the Railwaymen.

They have not had the best of luck with the FA Cup and FA Trophy draws. They exited the Cup in an away replay at Plymouth Parkway and last Saturday saw them go out of the Trophy on another long trip to Devon, losing 1-0 to Tavistock. They will be keen to do well in front of their home fans in this game.
