We’ve been meeting Aylesbury United, the Ducks, since 1926 and our 9-2 FA Cup defeat at Wendover Road. We’ve had our occasional revenge in the 36 meetings that followed that game and have won ten of the last 17 meetings from 1964/5 season onwards.

We will be looking to make that eleven wins on Saturday to consolidate our recovery after the Cirencester defeat. Aylesbury’s position at the wrong end of the table may give us expectations of three points but hopefully we will not take them lightly because that way lies disappointment. With Berkhamsted establishing a good lead at the top of the table we need to be out for every point we can get.

The Ducks announced Jack Wells as their new manager last Sunday when they lost at home to Biggleswade. He will be keen to get off to a good start and we can expect United to display the extra commitment and belief that playing for a new manager can produce. Not an easy match I suspect.
