This is our first game against Walthamstow since our 2-1 win at Wadham Lodge in March 2014 against the then Waltham Forest. Relegation to the Essex Senior League followed but after eight seasons at Step 5 and a name change they have returned to Step 4 as league champions.

After a slow start former Ware manager Nicky Ironton was brought in and seems to have made a difference. They are on a good run at the moment and this will be a difficult match for us.

There are three former Ware players in their squad, the most recent being last season’s keeper Brad Robinson who made 50 appearances for us up to and including the play-off final. There’s also Nicky’s son George who also made 50 appearances for Ware and scored five goals now a decade ago. Finally, Jordon Watson has joined Walthamstow having been with Ware at the start of the season. In total Jordon has played 59 games for us and scored 24 goals.
