Saturday, 11th February at Wodson Park SG12 0UQ;
Southern League, Division One (Central); kick off 3pm.
Every game is important as we continue our yearly battle for promotion but after two defeats there will be a sense that we need to get back on track. So the visit of Didcot could hardly be more significant. They sit one place below us in the table but only on goal difference as both sides have 42 points albeit that we have a game in hand.
We won the away fixture 3-0 back at the beginning of October with goals from Renée Howe, Marcus Milner and Liam Dulson from the penalty spot. I doubt that the Railwaymen will have that on their mind on Saturday though. They’ve enjoyed a good run recently with just one defeat in their last seven games.
Their goals in those seven games have been spread amongst a number of players but Connor Barrett comes out ahead with three, one of which was at home to Hertford and two in their match at Biggleswade Town.
With Ware chastened by that defeat at Kidlington last week Paul Halsey may well shake his side up a bit. You can read his thoughts and intentions in the programme which will be on sale at the turnstile for £1:50.
There will be three youth games at Wodson Park on Sunday with the Under-17s, as yet unbeaten in their league, facing Barking at 2pm; and the Under-13s receiving Colney Heath also in a league game at 10am. In between those two games the Under-14s face Stevenage in the county cup, kick off is 2pm. As always, entry is free and the tea bar and clubroom will be open.
