After three away games we’re back home and welcoming Walthamstow on their first visit to Wodson Park in almost ten years. They’ve had a spell in Step 5 since then but have come back rejuvenated and are starting to scent the play-off places. As a result, this will be another hard game.

There are several Ware connections in their side starting with manager Nicky Ironton and including captain Jordon Watson, keeper Brad Robinson and Nicky’s son George. Brad made exactly 50 appearances for us last season all the way up to and including the play-off final. With the Stow currently on a good run he may well be thinking he could go that far again.

I hate to mention it but since our win over runaway leaders Berkhamsted in November we have failed to record another win at home. That's two draws and three defeats in five league games. We have to do better. For what it’s worth we are ninth in the league table based only on home games whilst Walthamstow are eighth in the away table. Is that a drawn game I see before me?

Youth teams.

There are four youth games at Wodson Park on Sunday starting at 10am with the Under-16s meeting Bedmond in the quarter final of the Herts Challenge Cup for their age group. That is followed at midday by the Under-18s against Royston in the Eastern Junior Alliance, then the Under-17s at home to Cuffley in another county cup quarter final at 2pm and finally the Under-15s meeting Colney Heath in the EJA at 4pm. The clubroom and tea bar will be open throughout and entry to the games is free.
