We have lost just one of our last nineteen meetings with Hertford, that defeat being eleven matches ago. Great though it sounds, records like that can’t last. With Ware losing on Saturday and Hertford now recovered from a first day defeat to sit in a play-off position who’s to say that the one hundredth league meeting between the clubs won’t provide the home side with a victory?

Well, Paul Halsey for one. He knows this is an important match and will have his team in the right frame of mind to take on a Hertford side that has picked up seven points in its last three matches. He'll want, as a minimum, to keep Ware two ahead in the count of wins in these meetings which currently stands at 40 to 38.

Wins at Biggleswade Town and Aylesbury United will have boosted Hertford’s confidence though a home draw against Kidlington means that they are yet to win at home.

Ware came out of Saturday’s defeat with no apparent injuries so once again they should have a full squad to choose from.
