Match Preview

Our last visit to Bedford was a little over two years ago when we came out on top by 3-2. Although destined to gain promotion as champions the Eagles were maybe not quite as settled as they appear to be now. Their hundred percent league record sees them top of the table whilst back then they were one of the chasers behind Berkhamsted.

By the same standard of judgement we don’t look quite the finished product yet so may well have an uphill task in this game. That said the arrival of Ramiah Mills looks as though the gap left by Brandon Adams’ departure may now be filled so there is definitely something to build on.

Bedford dropped out of the FA Cup at the same stage as ourselves though their defeat at home to Isthmian North Gorleston was more surprising than ours to Step 2 Chelmsford. Unlike us they are still in the FA Trophy, a win on penalties at Bowers & Pitsea, another Isthmian North side, seeing them into the 3rd qualifying round.

They have scored five goals in a game on three occasions so far this season, the most noteworthy being in their FA Cup replay win at Walthamstow where the home side failed to score.
