It’s a short trip mostly down the A10 to see if we can repeat last season’s victory at Capershotts. On the face of it this should be a close game with Abbey one place and one point better off than Ware in the league table but having played one more game.

Abbey have found scoring easy at times this season with the best being a 6-2 win over Ipswich Wanderers in the FA Trophy. On the other hand they’ve conceded a few too, a 5-1 defeat to Heybridge Swifts in the next round being the stand out. In fact that was the first of four home games that saw them gain just one draw.

They seem to have put all that behind them now with a 1-0 win over Cirencester two weeks ago. More significantly they sandwiched that game between a draw at Kings Langley last week and, their best league result so far, a 5-2 win at AFC Dunstable in October.

A tough game for us I think but there may be news of one or two new signings as Paul Halsey seeks to strengthen his squad. Whether they appear on Saturday though, time will tell.
