Saturday, 2nd March at Wodson Park SG12 0UQ;
Pitching-in Southern League Division One (Central); kick off 3pm.
This, I think, heralds the start of the run in to the end of the season. We still have hopes of finishing in the play-off places but three of the five remaining home games see us pitted against sides with the same ambition.
Cirencester are the first of those and whilst neither side will write themselves off should they lose, a win will certainly make them breathe just that bit easier, at least for a while.
We lost both matches against the Centurions last season but won in Gloucestershire back in October, thanks to an own goal.
Both teams are currently on 40 points from 26 games though Cirencester have a significantly better goal difference. Both have also drawn two and won one of the three matches since their last defeat.
This weekend’s programme (£1.50 at the gate) has the usual mix of articles including Paul’s notes from the Gaffer; Aiden’s Astroturf series in which he looks at the job of managing a football team with particular reference to Ian Holloway’s recent book; and the results and fixtures for our Sunday youth teams.
There’s just one youth game at home on Sunday when the under-15 side, currently clear at the top of their division of the Eastern Junior Alliance face Enfield Borough. Kick off is at 10am but the ground will be open at 8.30 along with the tea bar and clubroom. Entry is free.
If you can’t make the game on Saturday remember that there will be commentary by Pete Hill and Symon Allemandy at [url=https://www.spreaker.com/show/90minuteslive] from 2.55pm.
