Match Preview

The season continues to warm up along with the weather. There are two games over the Easter weekend and we need to get off to a good start in the first of those. Thame United are currently bottom of the table but as we have recently lost at both Kidlington and Kempston, both equally relegation haunted, we have to do more than just turn up.

Thame won away at Biggleswade last Saturday and came close to a draw on Tuesday at Bedford as an extra warning against complacency. That’s in case you’ve forgotten their 4-4 draw at Wodson Park earlier in the season when they fully deserved the point. They might have had more but for Liam Dulson’s equaliser six minutes into added time.

More recently, they have lost their last three home games but at the same time won at Stotfold and Welwyn Garden City in addition to that Biggleswade game. If that makes Thame difficult to assess maybe it could also point to them being better away from home than at the ASM Stadium. Meanwhile, we haven’t lost to them since coming across to the Southern League.

There are no youth games this Sunday.
