Match Preview

Once again the excitement lasts to the end of the season. We ought to be getting used to it but it seems just as nerve wracking this year as it has in the previous two.

Essentially a win is necessary to give us any hope of finishing third and thus having a home draw in the play-off semi final. Anything less than a win could see us overtaken by Waltham Abbey and relegated to fifth place. Fourth or fifth we will be away in the semi final.

And we haven’t considered Biggleswade Town yet. A draw will be enough to give them the championship and automatic promotion but you can’t expect that they will be playing for a point and risking defeat. We will have our work cut out on Saturday but we’re good enough to do it if we bring our best game to the Yvette Brewer Stadium.

We lost our home game against the Waders thanks to a late goal, something they seem to be making a habit of just lately with a 1-0 win over Thame and a 2-2 draw with Hadley in their last two home games.

Jon Clements was on the bench for Biggleswade in our previous meeting but signed for Ware soon after and scored twice for us in the following Saturday’s win at AFC Dunstable. Can he do the same this Saturday?
