Saturday, 22nd February at Wodson Park SG12 0UQ;
Pitching-in Southern League Division One (Central); kick off 3pm.
Printed programme on the gate for £1.50.
Flackwell Heath return to Wodson Park after a break of eighteen years and we find them riding high in the table. It’s even longer since their last win here and we’ll be doing our best to extend that period but their pursuit of a play-off place will make them a tough nut to crack.
We may be waiting for our first win of 2025 but Flackwell Heath have just gone three league games with only one point to show for their trouble. Two of those games were against other sides high in the table so they may be looking at our league position and thinking they can get back on track against us.
If so they’ll be looking to Wiktor Makowski to do the damage. He has 22 goals from 23 league games so far this season including one against us in the earlier 2-2 draw. But we're not without a good defensive line up. It should be a good game.
Our referee will be Mr Josh Burns and his assistants are Christopher Gustafsson and Paul Sangster.
We will again be playing host to St Margaretsbury while the problem with their showers is sorted out. This Saturday they are at home to May & Baker in the Thurlow Nunn League. Kick off is 6pm. Stay on and enjoy a second game.
There are two youth games on Sunday with free entry and the club room and tea bar open throughout. Kicking off at midday are the under-13s who entertain London Lions before the under-14s meet Baldock Town at 2pm. I must also mention the under-18s who meet Hemel Hempstead at the county ground in Letchworth to dispute the final of the county cup for their age group. Kick off 2.30pm. We hope as many of you as possible can make the journey to see if the club can bring back the trophy for a third time since 2011/2.
Our record against the Heathens:
This is our 26th meeting, the previous 25 seeing 13 wins for Ware and 8 to the Heathens. All bar one of those meetings have been league games with just 2003’s Associate Members Trophy fixture standing apart. This is the first season that we have met outside the Isthmian League.
