The last home game of the season brings Leighton Town to Wodson Park. It will be almost exactly 21 years since their last victory over us but there again we have only met five times in competitive games since then.
This season’s 1-1 draw in the away fixture showed them to be tough to beat and they’ve only been getting better since then. After Saturday’s games they are seventh in the table but with a play-off place now beyond them. We remain mid-table with the ambition of finishing in the top half.
If he is selected, Joe Dearman will play his 99th game for Ware in this match. With his 100th likely to be at Beaconsfield and away from the limelight at Wodson Park until next season, give him a special cheer on Saturday. Photo credit to the Guardian by the way.
