Next up - Phoenix Sports away on Saturday, 26th November at The Mayplace Ground, DA7 6JT, Ryman Isthmian League Division One (North). Kick off 3pm.
At last we get to travel again after four home games and it's to a new ground, our first ever visit to Phoenix Sports though they are within close sight of VCD Athletic where we won in this season's FA Trophy.
Both sides are in need of a pick-me-up after different but equally crushing defeats in midweek. Ware lost at home after holding a deserved 2-0 half time lead whilst Phoenix were hammered 6-1 at league leaders Maldon & Tiptree.
For Ware, after five consecutive defeats, a win or just a draw is becoming a necessity both in terms of our position in the table and morale. The two latest defeats have been close run things and it seems all the side needs is to get back into winning ways to recapture the spirit that saw them have a successful run all through October. Incidentally it was a run that started with a 2-2 home draw in our first ever game against Phoenix.
Phoenix started the season well, occupying top spot for some time and after that continued to hold a place in the play-off positions. More recently they have dropped off the pace and are currently tenth in the table with ten points more than Ware and are nine places better off. We have two games in hand on them.
