This is the second of an East Anglian triple for Ware with Bury to come next at home this Saturday. But it is the first of these three games, the win at Sudbury on Saturday, which offers a tantalising warning for those of a superstitious turn. Ware's first ever win at Sudbury was a good omen surely and yet they travel to Soham knowing that they have never lost there in the league. If rock solid records are being broken, might that one go too?

There is the possibility that some players may be rested for this game but it could be a big night in terms of relegation. Although bottom place now looks to be between Norwich United and Romford a win for the Blues and dropped points for the bottom two would make Ware mathematically safe and able to plan for next season with confidence. Any other combination of results will delay that at least until the game with Bury which will be the last Saturday match played on grass at Wodson Park.

It is not even a fortnight since we met Soham in a "home" game on Haringey Borough's artificial surface. The 3-2 defeat was by common consent hard on Ware after a good performance so maybe the football gods will give us some leeway on Tuesday night. We may need it, Soham also scored an away victory on Saturday 2-1 against Abbey so look to be in good form.

It's of no direct relevance to the game but Soham's goalkeeper Josh Pope is the brother of England hopeful Nick whilst our former keeper turned striker Anthony Anstead once score a hat trick against Soham but still finished on the losing side. "Ant" is now making a career as a TV presenter.
