It's worrying to realise that most of our concentration this week has been on the departure of one manager and the search for a replacement. That replacement may well be in place by the time this match kicks off but if so he will not have had a chance to see the players in training. It is not the best preparation as we seek to regroup for a push up the table for the second time in a month.
Bury will be anxious to exploit any frailties in personnel and morale that this week has caused so there's a big job for whoever does take on temporary responsibility in the Ware dug out. Our opponents currently lie 11th in the table just one place above Hertford who they have beaten twice this season by an aggregate 10-2. At the very least we will hope to avoid anything like that.
After a good start to the season when the goals were certainly flowing Bury have dropped off the pace and have only one win in the last 12 competitive matches. That was a 2-1 victory against Soham Town Rangers in their most recent home game on Boxing Day.
