Saturday, 5th January at Wodson Park SG12 0UQ;
Bostik Isthmian League Div. 1 (South Central), kick off 3pm.
This will be our first meeting with Bedfont Sports who have made the step up from the Combined Counties League after finishing second in the premier division last season.
They lost five of their first six league matches as they accustomed themselves to life at Step 4 but have made steady progress since then. They are now one place below us in the table thanks to our better goal difference and have a game in hand so we can expect a close encounter.
Just before Christmas a run of six undefeated games came to an end at Hayes & Yeading when they shipped six goals without scoring themselves. They are not the only side to concede a hatful against the league leaders and they made a smart turn around last Saturday with a 4-0 home win against Ashford Town.
That was a third four-goal haul at home in four games and their sixth league win in the last eight with points dropped only against Hayes and Cheshunt. It's another reminder that we can't call this an easy game.
The youth teams start to get back into action this Sunday with league leaders the Under-13s at home to Buckhurst Hill in the league at 10am and the Under-14s at home to Oaklands Wolves in the Herts FA Cup, kicking off at 12.30.
All youth fixtures, results and tables will all be available in the match day programme that is available on the gate for £1.50. Also in the programme is Aiden's "Astroturf" series which this week includes a paean of praise for the supporters diaspora that was reversed when so many returned for the game at Waltham Abbey.
