Ware face another difficult game this Saturday when they travel back to Middlesex, a county where they have yet to win this season. Hosts Ashford lost at Waltham Abbey last Saturday but are just a point and a place behind us in the table.
It will be our sixth meeting with Ashford but only our second on their turf since the first on a Tuesday night 18 years ago. We drew the current season's league game at Wodson Park after a late equaliser from Ashford in a match that saw us caught offside far too often.
If Ware have an advantage to take into this game it is in terms of goals scored and conceded where they have a plus 21 difference compared to Ashford's minus 4. Question: how do you get to the verge of the play-offs with a minus goal difference? We may find out on Saturday if we're not careful.
