It's another new ground this Saturday as Ware make their first visit to Chipstead where, they will be glad to note, the Surrey side have lost as many as nine of their 15 home league games this season.
They have yet to draw at home though, unlike ourselves; the 3-3 draw at Wodson Park back in December against a hard working Chipstead being one of seven at home this season. It ended as a bad tempered affair but as I said in last Saturday's programme notes, whatever the background to these situations stay calm. It's cool heads that win points.
Chipstead are currently 12th in the table and have Luke Elliott suspended. Ware have injury worries over Ben Hart and Leigh Rose and will be without Tommy Wade who, now that the dust has settled from the latest management resignation at Hertford, it can be confirmed is the new manager at Hertingfordbury Park. We wish him well.
In addition to this season's league games there has been one other meeting between the two clubs. We lost a home FA Trophy game by 1-0 on 8th October 2011.
Trivia note: We have a Points Per Game (PPG) figure of 1.65 so far this season. Currently it is our second highest PPG in the thirteen seasons since we joined Step 4. Our best is 1.88 in 2007/8 when we reached the play-offs. We will have to win all our remaining seven games if we are to beat that record this season so a draw or defeat at Chipstead will end that possibility.
