Bracknell break Ware hearts with late winner

Bracknell Town maintained their unbeaten home record after coming back from a two goal half time deficit and ultimately won the game with Liam Ferdinand’s last gasp header.
From early on Dave Cowley was the source of Ware’s threat and an early cross from the left wing just evaded the head of Albert Adu in the middle of the box. Moments later Cowley was again tormenting David Hancock and finding a cross into the box, on this occasion Jack Daveney set the ball back for Adu whose shot had the power but not the accuracy.
Midway through the half the visitors took their lead and it owed a lot to good reading of the game by Williams Danquah who spotted a cross field ball early and got himself into position to cut it out. Having garnered possession he played the ball down the wing to Cowley who seeing the run of Brandon Adams fed the central position striker with a delightful ball off the outside of his boot. Adams needed just two touches to control and fire past the dive of Mark Scott to score.
It was the same combination of provider and scorer for Ware’s second goal with Cowley again providing the ammunition from the left and Adams stooping low to glance a header into the far corner of the net.
Adu had a half chance with a volley that floated and high and wide of the goal, before at the other end the hosts had a decent penalty shout after Ferdinand tried to flick the ball past Louis Rose hitting the defenders arm but the appeals were waved away. Ash Artwell had the final chance of the half shooting from the edge of the box but Calum Kitscha was able to get down to his right and save.
An early warning in the second half of what was to come arrived when Joe Grant waltzed his way across the edge of the Ware box before shooting over the bar.
The game could have been decided in Ware’s favour and not for the first time the chance arrived through Cowley’s trickery on the left. His cross found Daveney and he laid the ball back inside for Adu whose shot deflected off Ryan Parsons before agonizingly hitting the post and rolling away to safety.
The let off was all Bracknell needed to spark back to life with Ferdinand making a run along the byline and pulling back into a crowd of players where Seb Bowerman was on hand to sweep home.
The leveller arrived when both Gareth Madden and then Louis Rose were sucked into making challenges that they need not have made leaving a large space behind them that Adam Cornell was able to exploit, rounding Kitscha and rolling home.
Bracknell now had the wind in their sales and chances for Cornell, denied by a wonderful George Casey challenge, and Bowerman, bending his effort just wide of the far post, had chances to give them a lead. The best chance of this period should have been converted by an unmarked Joe Grant who was found by Bowerman’s perfect cross, but with the goal gaping he could not wrap his foot round it.
It was from another tantalising Bowerman cross in the first minute of added time that Ferdinand was able to rise highest to head home and secure all three points for the Robins.
