It's back to league action this Saturday with the visit of Chalfont St Peter who have made a good start to their campaign and occupy fourth place in the table. They have played one game in the Velocity Trophy, drawing 2-2 at home to Hanwell before getting an extra point thanks to a 17-16 win on penalties. Not quite a record I think but still a pretty rare score.
They had no luck in the FA Cup having to travel almost to the West Sussex coast to meet the up and coming Chichester City. They suffered a 2-0 defeat and will have to turn their attention to the FA Trophy in which they are at home to Whitstable Town two weeks after this game. Their result will be of interest to us as we travel to meet the winners in the next round.
After the midweek win over Hertford our team will no doubt revert to something like last Saturday's though Paul might make changes in the light of what he saw on Tuesday.
We will be back to a standard programme for this game after the midweek mini. It will be £1.50 on the gate and includes the fixtures, results and tables for all our age teams from last season; a history of the visitors; Traveller's Tales; whilst Aiden's Astroturf series mirrors my own editorial in welcoming and complimenting the Chalfont chairman Denis Mair before discussing the fixture programme in relation to the Velocity trophy.
As always the club shop will be open before the match and at half time.
