Another win but it was hard work after a good start. Fifth place in the table is maintained.

Ware began in a rush and it looked as though they might run away with the game after going 2-0 up in the opening 16 minutes. It wasn't just the score either but some neat work that was epitomised by the second goal.

Leigh Rose won the ball in midfield before passing to Williams Danquah who fed it on to Dan Rumens. His cross from the left came along the edge of the Bedfont penalty area where Liam Hope dummied the home defence, letting the ball pass on to Olu Akinsanya. Ware's leading scorer took the gift by scoring low past Dimitrios Kyriaztis and into the net.

Those words probably don't do justice to a piece of flowing football that promised so much for the rest of the game. Instead it seemed to be a wake up call for the home side who started to take the game seriously after that.

Until that point they had been on the receiving end of Ware pressure. As early as the second minute Josh Williams had made a good run from just inside his own half and into the home penalty area but his shot was saved. Two minutes later Akinsanya drove forward before passing to Williams whose shot came back off Kyriaztis's post.

Another two minutes passed before a Tom Bruno free kick was headed wide by Liam Hope whilst another Bruno free kick, this time from the right, was headed over by Akinsanya.

From the goal kick there was brief activity in the Ware half and then play returned to the other end of the pitch where Williams was on the end of a pass. Moving into the penalty area he shot across the face of goal where a defender got a marginal contact on the ball that failed to divert its course into the bottom of the net for Ware's opener.

Ware never achieved the same consistency of play once two goals to the good and aside from being cushioned by the lead they held on for a win because they were just that bit more clinical in front of goal. Bedfont came back into the game but mostly failed to properly test Ethan Gannon in the Ware goal.

With Calum Kitscha injured the sixteen year old youth team player was promoted for his league debut. Whilst there were occasional signs that his defence were looking to protect him as much as possible he had very little to worry about beyond parrying the ball away from one particularly dangerous attack at the mid point of the half.

Sports did breach the Ware defence on 33 minutes when a cross from the left was headed beyond Gannon by Andy Ali but the keeper could not be faulted. The home side were buoyed by this and continued to pressure Ware but they failed to generate many clear cut opportunities.

It was five minutes into the second half before Bedfont seriously tested Gannon again but the young keeper saved well to deny them an equaliser. Instead Ware started to pull themselves back into the game and on the hour Hope's shot from an Akinsanya cross required a save from Kyriaztis.

The match was decided with fifteen minutes of normal time left when Alaa Oujdi won the ball and released Pat Adamson on the left. Under pressure he worked his way into Sports penalty box before crossing. The ball was cleared but only as far as the edge of the area where Akinsanya was waiting. He took his time to make a good position for himself before shooting home.

There were now other chances for Ware with Williams making a good run along the goal line before shooting from what was an almost impossible angle, the ball being cleared for a corner and then Danquah shooting against the cross bar.

There were seven minutes of added time before Ware could relax with the confirmation of victory. Most of the added time came from an injury to Ware's Gareth Madden and Bedfont's Brandon Kalu who both went down following a nasty clash of heads. After five minutes treatment both retired from the game, Madden bandaged and Kalu stretchered. Kalu was later taken to hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Ware: Ethan Gannon, Gareth Madden (Harry Norman 62mins), Patrick Adamson, Leigh Rose, Dave Kendall, Dan Rumens, Joshua Williams, Tom Bruno (Harry Watkins 92mins), Olu Akinsanya, Liam Hope (Alaa Oujdi 72mins), Wiliams Danquah. Unused subs: Louis Rose, Harry Norman, Tobi Adekunle.
