Christmas is over and you've had your New Year fun. There's no Premier League on Saturday so now it's back to the serious business of live home town football and our first match since taking over at the top of the table.

Can we stay there? Chertsey, holders of the FA Vase, will hardly be pushovers though their recent results have brought just one win in their last eight league matches. Last week they showed great resilience to draw 3-3 at home to Bedfont Sports scoring a late, late equaliser after conceding twice in added time.

We drew a tight game 1-1 at Alwyn's Lane back in August with Jordon Watson getting our equaliser after an earlier chance from Pat Adamson hit a post. Saturday's game will be another close one I suspect.

With the youth teams returning to action this weekend the match programme (£1.50 on the gate) will have details of all their results and those fixtures currently scheduled. They have just one home match this Sunday with the Under-14s hosting Stevenage in the county cup at 10am. Another regular feature is Aiden's Astroturf series which this week looks back at the progress made by the club in the last twelve months and the lessons to be learned.
