Match Preview

This is a first time meeting between our two sides with Wantage also the fourth of five Oxfordshire sides we will come across this season. We have yet to lose any of these clashes with the Oxonians and will hope to continue in that vein on Saturday especially as we look to make amends for last week’s fall from grace.

Wantage are second from bottom in the table but seem to have the ability to make their opponents fight hard for any points. They have suffered only two heavy defeats, one away to Berkhamsted and the other at home to Aylesbury. Their last league win was four weeks previous to this game by 2-1 at bottom club Colney Heath. Last Saturday they drew 3-3 at home to Hertford who equalised in added time.

We are looking for our first win since the 2-0 midweek defeat of FC Romania just over two weeks ago. I have no news of injury problems but understand that Leigh Rose continues to be unavailable.
