A second trip to the Recreation Ground beckons. Our 4-0 victory there in the FA Cup seems a distant memory as league games have long since taken centre stage. As it’s now almost a month and four matches since we last picked up three points each match grows in importance.
Heath have changed manager since that earlier game, Ant Burns having moved into the hot seat to replace Ryan Thompson. However, they continue to struggle and have lost 12 of their last 13 matches, the one victory being the recent 1-0 home success over St Neots. We’ll be hoping to make it 13 out of 14 to start 2022 off well but you can’t take these things for granted.
Louis Rose will be available for selection after his one match ban as will Brad Robinson following his Covid isolation period. However, Josh Williams, withdrawn at half time against Hertford with a tweeked hamstring was expected to be rested for this game when I spoke to Ryan Carter after the match.
There’s no commentary from Pete and Symon for this one as they’re otherwise engaged at Hertford so if you want to know how it’s going you’ll need to be at Colney Heath.
