Warlingham hang on for point

Warlingham managed to salvage a point from this hectic game with a fantastic penalty save from keeper Nuttall.

War went behind on 3 occasions during this game to a number of defensive mistakes but still managed to cling to the point they started with.

Two goals from Harris and a classic from the returning Mart helped them through. Wars looked below par from the start and soon went behind from a deep cross that they failed to deal with. Harris equalised after good work from Mart following a through ball from Rolfe.

Badshot looking the more lively made their hard work pay again when Stephenson knocked a short ball back to keeper Nuttall and the Badshot forward nipped in to score.

Again Wars came back when young Dean on for the injured Dave Stuart slotted a perfect ball through to Harris who finished with style.

At half time Manager Brookman told his side exactly what he thought about the first half performance.

However no sooner had the 2nd half started and Badshot took the lead again. Warlingham pressed on in search of another equaliser and Mart picked up a ball out near the corner flag. Cutting inside the full back he sped into the penalty box and hammered a right foot shot into the far corner 3-3.

It continued to be an evenly matched game and with 15 miniutes to go Badshot again got free in the box and after a desperate lunge by Rolfe the Referee pointed to the Penalty spot. Despite Rolfe's furious protests it was a clear penalty.

After some gamemanship from Yeghni the Badshot forward shot to Nuttall's right and he made a great save but only managed to push the ball into the path of the on rushing Badshot forward who blasted over the bar.

It was an end to end game with a catalouge of mistakes and great goals. Warlingham must improve next week against Knaphill if they are going to continue their good start.
