Wars had come into this game off of a great draw with Guildford City at the weekend and the game started at very lively pace with both sides creating openings.But after about 20 mins. Liam Giles went into a challenge and was left on floor and was immediatly calling for the physio. It looked a nasty injury even from the distance that I was from the incident and it proved to be. An ambulance was called straight away and the game was held up for over half an hour in order that Liam could be taken off to hospital. The game restarted and within a couple of minutes Kieron Dias had put us one up with a well taken goal.
Half Time- 1-0 to Wars.

The second half started after a short break in the hope that we would get the whole game in before the light went. Again as at the start of the game it was fairly even but Wars managed to fashion a chance when Jack Higgins headed home a cross from Dan "Scissors" Canning. This put us in the driving seat but changes to the Athletic side saw them really put on the pressure and the were eventually rewarded a penalty when Gareth Broome was adjudged to have pulled someone back at a corner. The penalty was well struck but Gavin Dilley on in place of Dan Coote in the 2nd half stretched out a big hand and pushed it on to the post only for the onrushing Athletic forward to blast high and wide. Athletic continued to put the pressure on and push forward only to be caught on the break with Stefan going solo from the halfway line to eventually bundle the ball over the line with assistance from a despairing defender.

|News of Liam - The ankle was badly dislocated but was put back into place which I think has resulted in a small fracture but at this moment in time no decision has been made whether or not an operation is going to be needed.
