Fielding sets the tone for an excellent team win.

Another day, another win.
(Albeit Kinglesy reported last night slightly differently).

Davenham 240 (256/4)
Warrington 298 (306/2)

An excellent fielding performance laid the foundation for our second win in two nights. Our experience really shone through with the fielding efforts resulting in no misfields or overthrows. The bowling was generally good but as was often the case last year, we provided half of Davenham’s runs in the form of wides. Ethan in his 2nd game was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets. Liam and Will also bagged one apiece.

Ethan 2-9
Liam 1-3
Will 1-5

Our batting went about methodically picking off the runs, although we once again found batting against inexperienced bowlers harder when the ball is rolling or pitching very wide. Our 3rd partnership saw us overhaul the target, with Dylan playing some excellently positive shots. The last partnership of Teddy and Ethan added 47 runs with some brilliant running between the wickets adding runs almost every ball. Ethan finished with a good 7no and Teddy adding some late fireworks including two big 6s.

Teddy 20 runs
Dylan 8 runs
Ethan 7 runs

A good win played in an excellent spirit and with the parents enjoying the first entry into the Bake Off with an excellent entry from Team Higginson.
