Brow Youngsters pull out all the stops to secure final trophy of the season

YOUTH ROUND UP

Hornets pick up their 3rd trophy of the season
Wath Brow, through injuries and holiday commitments, turned up with a weaker side than they would have liked but the youngsters who donned the Brow shirt were all capable and able to pull their side through at the final whistle.
Ellenborough just did not get going in this game and lacked power up front to give them a foot hold in the game, but only found themselves 12-6 adrift at the break.
Two Kieran Eldon touch downs plus two conversions from Joe Power were the Brow’s first half point scorers, with John Irving replying with a try for the Rang-ers, goaled by Owen Hoyles.
Wath Brow went further ahead four minutes after the restart when Jay Weatherill laid on a great ball for Andrew Bulman to come onto and touch down in the corner and with Power landing a brilliant touch line conversion, the Brow were 18-6 ahead.
Elbra pulled it back to 18-10 four minutes later when Hoyles put in a pinpoint perfect cross field kick for Zac Olstrom to pluck from the air and touch down in the corner.
Joe Power orchestrated Wath Brow’s next score as the loose forward sent out a great cut out ball to Weatherill to finish off in the coner and with Power again on target with another brilliant touch line conversion, the Brow were 24-10 in front.
The Rangers cut the deficit by four points going into the final few minutes of the game when after Wath Brow gave away a penalty in front of their own posts, a quick play the ball by the Rangers, two quick passes along the line and Keiran Carruthers was in at the corner, 24-14 in favour of Wath Brow.
A score that was to remain unaltered at the final whistle. Wath Brows match winner was undoubtedly their loose forward Joe Power and the No13 deserved the Man-of-the-Match but he must have been closely pushed by the half back pairing of Samuel Cruden and Jay Weatherill who both had very good games.
Trophies after the game were handed out by Mr Les Ashe, a representative of the GMB/Unite Unions at Sellafield, the league sponsors for the 2014 season.
