Christmas has come early to Saturn Close! ?As work continues to improve our home ground. Working with National Highways & Heidelberg Materials, we received approximately 150t of road plainings from the recent resurfacing works on the A47 around the Lowestoft area.
The very kind gesture allowed us to significantly improve access to Saturn Close. A facility used by several of our teams including under 16s, 18s, our men's, ladies & veterans. The key aim is to improve access for facility users such as players, coaches, referees and make the site more accessible to spectators including those with disabilities. Furthermore, improve emergency vehicle access in the event of a significant or serious injury.
The works were carried out on the weekend of the 21 and 22nd December, with the help of Mathew Williams Digger Hire who kindly provided the 8t excavator and roller and the help of players’ relatives who volunteered their time to carry out the works.
The works help reduce the cost considerably whilst reusing a waste material and reducing carbon impact/footprint of both the works taking place on the A47 and carrying out the work.
Waveney Football Club would like to place on record their sincere thanks to all those involved for these works taking place whilst being hopeful we can work together on future road improvement schemes to improve other facilities/ sites.
